Review
After reading the synopsis of this book, I was excited to finally see it on the shelves of my local bookstore. Set right outside of New Orleans, magic, suspense, mystery, a great combination. Sadly, it wasn’t as good as I expected. I wanted to enjoy this book much more than I did. This book started great. Small town, everyone has a different magical power like feeling what other people feel, talking to spirits, controlling the wind, or being in two places at once.
This book had a great storyline but didn’t play out well for me. There wasn’t much progression until near the end. When it did pick up, everything was over in the blink of an eye. I was left with many questions. While the author did follow up with the main character at the end, I wondered what happened with the other supporting characters and how everyone reacted when they discovered the truth about Elora. I was pretty disappointed! 3 stars.
